Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy

The FTIR System provides the highest performance available with a wide variety of sampling options.

FTIR can identify functional groups, which can lead to identifying specific organic substances such as polymers, pharmaceuticals and more.

  • The Omnic software controls the data collection, data reduction, and validation software, ensuring clientele of high-quality analytical data.
  • The ability to simultaneously view the sample and collect the spectrum is a major improvement over previous methods.
  • The large selection of reference spectra available in the commercial databases and our internal database improve the success of identifying unknown components.
  • The validation software ensures that the instrument is operating within the required specifications.

Please note: FTIR samples submitted in plastic sandwich bags can become contaminated due to an inner non-stick coating. To prevent contamination of samples, Micron requests wrapping samples in aluminum foil prior to packaging.
