One of the most critical steps in any analysis
is the proper preparation of the sample before the analysis.
Micron’s sample preparation laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation and highly skilled technical personnel.
Sample preparation facilities include:
- Grinding & Polishing
- Etching (chemical, plasma & ion)
- Vacuum & Glow Discharge Metallizing
- Critical Point Drying
- Provisions for filtering various chemicals
Micron personnel has extensive experience
in the proper preparation of materials including:
- Electronic Components
- Thick and Thin Film Circuits
- Biological Materials
All samples submitted to Micron must be accompanied by a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) to ensure safe handling of the material during the sample preparation and analysis stages. Class 100 Clean Room Facilities are used to prevent contamination of samples from the initial receipt of the final return to the originator.
All phases of the sample preparation are documented to facilitate reproducibility of future analysis of similar samples. Proprietary sample preparation techniques developed by Micron personnel enhance the reliability and accuracy of the analytical data.
Several precautions are taken to ensure proper identification of samples from the initial receipt to the final return to the originator.
